Solarol SOL64 overview

  • 1Description

Solarol the solarizing developer provides a new dimension of image control through the use of the Sabattier effect, commonly called "solarization".

The effect is produced by re-exposing the print to white light while it is in the developer. With other developers, this procedure gives a dark, muddy picture, but with Solarol, contrast is maintained, sharp edge effects appear, and a beautiful surreal image is obtained.

The tray life of Solarol equals that of the best of print developers, and it keeps for over two months in a well stopped bottle. With extended use, its developing action becomes slower, but its solarizing ability actually improves.

It should be discarded when it is too exhausted to produce a good black with two minutes of development.

Solarol SOL64 reviews

Solarol Developer for Black & White Paper is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the One for print Solarization This is the developer for print solarization AKA Sabattier effect. Just follow the enclosed directions; mix, dilute and expose your paper as directed (directions are attached to the can) and your solarized images will glow with the tone reversals and dramatic Mackie lines that characterize this otherworldly look. Yes you can use your normal paper developer for this effect but you will find it much more difficult to achieve results that are even close to the Solarol product. I have used Solarol for years in my photography classes in high school and college and it is the developer for print solarization.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still the best after all these years After all these years Solarol is still the best developer to use when you solariz images. I love the tonality that I get on my prints with this product. I hope it continues to be the same for many more years.
