    SIIG CE-S00012-S2 reviews

USB SoundWave 7.1 - USB Sound Card is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from great product I bought this USB soundcard because my old laptop's builtin soundcard recently died, and I didn't want to spend much $ fixing/replacing it. This was probably the simplest and cheapest solution. Now I can use my old laptop as a stereo system again. After a couple of weeks of heavy use, this device still works very well (so far, I've only used it on my old laptop running Windows XP Home Edition - Windows automatically installed the drivers and everything, so it was a snap). The sound is perfect and the thing is nice and small (about the size of a pen drive). My only complaints are that the included USB extension cord is a little too short for my taste and the mute button in Windows doesn't seem to work (although the volume bar works fine), but this last issue may be a driver issue or something. I haven't tried out the fancy simulated surround-sound speaker settings or anything. I just use it in the default mode, which sounds great. In short, I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a great, inexpensive USB soundcard.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Problem Solved I recently lost my both my headphone jack and speakers on my laptop. This USB sound card helped me head off an expensive motherboard replacement. The compact design (size of a flash drive) is perfect. The sound is great and the 7.1 surround sound is surprisingly clear even with headphones. Nice Product...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Had to return it I could not download disc onto computer that has XP. It is an Asus Eee PC. Also, the soundcard takes up a lot of room and could not have anything in the USB port next to it. I even went to website with tec support from B&H,where I got it from, and we couldn't download the drivers from there either.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from :(, Only does half the Job, No Mic Jack When has anyone bought or sold any type of a sound card that did not come equipped with a microphone jack? I have been building and repairing computers for over 20 years and I have never in all of that time seen a sound card that did not come equipped with a microphone jack. I realize that to get the mic option the pro card needs to be purchased. But I cannot figure out why that is even an option. This is the first and last SIIG product that I will ever buy. Once you open the blister pack, it is yours with no option to return the item. Their description states that the card is excellent. There is nothing excellent about anything that only does half the job. Stay away from this if you ever need the use of microphone. Furthermore, think about this, If you are using it for a laptop that you are taking with you to different places, Who is going to pickup an elaborate sound system such as 7.1 and take it with you? How stupid does it get?? What we have is a nice easy to use portable mobile device who's components that it was designed for are anything but mobile. What kind of thinking is this? This is pathetic! If I could give it a no star ratingI would do it.
