This mic is a real work horse. I have been using the same ECM-55B pair of lave mic's since 1993. You can't go wrong with this Sony Mic ECM-55B. I would recommend this mic to any video professional that want great audio.

question

I am looking at purchasing this mic to use when making videos with my Canon 5D Mark III. I will need an XLR cable that will be compatible with the 3.5mm mic jack on the camera, but I have had an audio phasing problem before when using a friend's mic (this same model) and an XLR cable. Do I need a certain XLR cable so I won't have the audio phasing problem?

I bought this mic for my son who is using a different recorder with it. We asked B&H for their recommendation on which cable to use, and it has been successful, so I would ask them which cable to use.

question

I have a Phantom 48v on mic inputs , can I use ECM 55b and 44b with the Phantom on.I know the 44b is battery only . Can I use it with Phantom 48v on.?Thank You
Asked by: Anonymous
You can use Phantom power WITH THE 55-B (need to keep a AA battery in capsule to bridge the gap-could be a dead battery.) Not certain about 44b.
