Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Idea For Windy Conditions I was so tired of the wind noise across my built in microphone that in most cases I would just turn off the audio all together. I purchased an external mic but the problem was still there. I believe I found the solution with the Windjammer!I've been looking for one of these little guys for a long time and it really does the trick. My audio has been saved! Why didn't I think to look here first?Great product, ... just what I wanted. ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Addition to the Camera Bag I wanted to reduce the wind whistle on video I record and the Mini Windjammer was great. When I used the Windjammer with the Sony HGZ1 Zoom Mic I got a very nice improvement in the audio ... and less wind noise.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could Be Better The acoustic material is as good as ever, and appears to work as well as any Rycote Windjammer products. No problem there. What I didn't care for in this model was a design that was hard to get on to the fragile plastic microphone, and makes it impossible to access the switch on the microphone without dealing with the hardest part to fit. It's a real shame because a simple change in the design could have solved those problems, and kept the Velcro away from the business end of the microphone. There's a slit on the underside of the thing that's just long enough to fit the long end, but takes some work (more than I'd like with plastic parts, especially the switch) to get the short, rear-facing end covered. The tag with the logo on it is sewn right over the switch, making it impossible to adjust the switch, or even discern its position while in use. I would have designed it with an L-shaped slit that kept the back face open for access to the switch, and used a bit of string to secure the thing once installed. Eliminating the Velcro strip also lets more of the fibers to fill in the area between the microphone and the camera, thus reducing unwanted camera noise. I can't complain considering the inexpensive parts involved, and can understand how rhis Windjammer product may be sold for more than one use. But for use with my microphone it could be better.
