US NightVision Corporation has a reputation as a leading manufacturer and distributor of the latest and highest quality night vision and tactical equipment that is known world wide. Their dedication to customer service, satisfaction and support is exemplary and sets an extremely high standard for the entire industry. Whether you're looking for body armor, a thermal imaging weapon sight, or a hands-free night vision goggle, USNV has a huge selection for you to choose from.
Whether you're navigating through total darkness to a hot LZ in your Blackhawk or mitigating a hostage crisis at night, lives are on the line, stress levels are high, and excuses are unacceptable. You, your team, and your gear must deliver 110%. Success is the name of the game, and you play to win.
The definition of pinnacle is the highest point of development or achievement, and the PVS-14 Pinnacle Monocular from ITT certainly lives up to its name. The PVS-14 form factor is well known around the world as a go-to choice for night vision equipment. Its compact form factor, light weight, and outstanding feature set make it the number one choice of ground troops, aviators, law enforcement, and security personnel. Night vision monoculars provide a both-eyes-open approach to viewing. This method of operation affords greater levels of situational awareness with enhanced peripheral vision.
The battle-tested and proven PVS-14 Pinnacle is built inside a rugged housing that is 100% water and fog proof; it's nearly impervious to harsh weather and conditions. Multicoated optics ensure a well detailed and distortion free image. An automatic brightness control circuit protects the sensitive electronics from accidental exposure to bright-light sources, and a user adjustable gain system allows the operator to dial-in the best image possible.
The PVS-14 excels in functionality and versatility. Long term hand-held viewing is extremely comfortable, and with headgear this monocular offers a hands-free viewing experience. You can also mount the PVS-14 to a tripod for stationary observation, and the optional camera adapter gives you the ability to record what you see in the dark. Weapon mounting is also possible, coalignment of the PVS-14 Pinnacle with a holographic sight provides the ultimate in nighttime CQB target acquisition.
While the aforementioned features and abilities put this monocular far and above the capabilities of garden-variety night vision optics, the Pinnacle Monocular rises above and beyond the call of duty with unparalleled night vision performance. The Pinnacle Monocular's namesake, ITT's third generation "Pinnacle" intensifier tube, raises the bar by which all other intensifiers will be judged. This is the technology that knocked 4th generation intensifiers out of the running for the US Army's Omni VI procurement contract. The Pinnacle intensifier delivers outstanding resolution (64-72 lp/mm), with a significant advantage in photoresponse, s/n ratio, and halo reduction.
The PVS-14 Pinnacle Monocular is available to military and law enforcement agencies only.
There are many different variables that affect the distance that one can see with a night vision device, among them the object's size, the level of details being sought from the object and the conditions of observation. Night vision devices detect much further under a full moon and clear skies than they will under a new moon and cloudy skies. Many different formulas are used to determine the statistic of maximum viewing range and the method of calculation varies by manufacturer. The important factors to consider when evaluating any night vision device are the intensifier tube's generation, s/n ratio, level of magnification, specified resolution, along with the clarity & light transmission efficiency of the optical system.
All night vision devices sold by B&H have mechanisms in place to protect the intensifier tube from a sudden burst of bright light, but this does not mean that bright light doesn't damage the device. No matter what, bright light in any form is not good for the longevity and performance of image intensifier tubes.
Pinnacle tubes feature a thin-film ion barrier on the MCP, and a gallium-arsenide photocathode. The power supply was redesigned and autogated for a significantly enhanced response to dynamic lighting conditions.
Compared to standard third generation technology, Pinnacle tubes deliver a 22% higher photoresponse, a 24% improvement in S/N ratio, a significant reduction in halo diameter, a 20% greater range of vision at night, 10,000+ hours of tube life, & 64-72 lp/mm of resolution.
