is it possible to position the camera parallel to the floor? I am guessing I will need an adapter of some sort to rotate the tripod head 90 degrees so that the camera's lens points perfectly downward. Can anyone tell me if this functionality is already possible with the Manfrotto 809, or, if there is an accessory that will make this a possibility ?
Yes, you can rotate the camera on the existing mount to aim straight down.
