Would this transfer the data from the tascam/canon xlr input device to the r5c's data hot shoe?
Asked by: Billy
No, Canon OC-E3 Off Camera Shoe Cord (2') does not have a multifunction shoe to connect on Canon EOS R5C or Tascam CA-XLR2d-C XLR Microphone Adapter Kit for Canon Cameras therefore it can not connect the camera and the mic adapter electronically. Canon OC-E3 Off Camera Shoe Cord (2') is a camera accesory strictly for Canon Speedlites.

It will work but only with the flash in manual mode. There are no TTL flashes made for the AE1 anymore.

I am looking for the 10' version of this cord. Is such a product available? I want to use the 2nd curtain sync - so wireless isn't an option. It seems that 2nd curtain sync is only available when a flash or cord and flash are connect to the hot shoe.
Asked by: Greg
Once flash is attached to the extendable shoe, maybe extends to 3 feet, and makes it easy to reposition the flash. It simply gives you more control over direction of light to subject.

Does this have a 1/4-20 thread to attach to a tripod?
Asked by: Nicole
I am not sure about the thread size you are referring to. I tried to attach it (and successfully) to a small Joby, a modern video/foto Manfrotto, a cheap all plastic Vivitar and an old but heavy duty aluminum SV Kenlock AA. I hope this will give you an idea if it has the thread size you are looking for. If it can help, the cable is very short, I use this only on my hand when attached to my X100F and its little EF-X20 Flash (no TTL), on tripods and for larger flashes I use "cheap and dumb" Yongnuo wireless transmitters instead, they give me more freedom even at short distance and for macros.

question

Sorry, I should have clarified: I have a Fuji EF-X20 flash and an X-Pro1--Given that it is both a Fuji flash and camera, will TTL data be transmitted via this cable?Thank you,Yoichi
Asked by: Anonymous
No, this would still not work in the manner you are inquiring regarding. As I mentioned in my previous reply, The design of Fujis TTL contacts points on their flashes and hot-shoes is different from that of Canon. Even now that you have mentioned using a Fuji flash, youre still using a Canon-TTL cable which has the same contact points as a Canon flash shoe and Canon hot shoe have, and are different from Fuji. This would be no different than using the Fuji flash on a Canon camera (which would not support TTL either). This cable will only support TTL communication when both the camera and the flash in question are Canon TTL models. Unfortunately there is no Fuji type of TTL cable to offer you in this instance.
