Middle Atlantic CAB-COOL Reviews
Extremely Quiet!
I have used this fan to cool computers located in cabinets in Dr.s offices. When intake holes are made to promote cross-flow through the cabinet, it moves enough air to maintain an acceptable environment for the computer/equipment. It is so quiet that one of my customers called to say it had stopped working. Not until I had him put his ear to it did he understand just how quiet it is. I like the fact that the thermostat and power supply are included making for an easy install. The only issue I've had is that the fastener for the front vent cover would not hold and I had to secure it with an adhesive. I would recommend to a friend and will continue to use it myself.
Exceptionally designed but overpriced
I purchased this product to resolve ventilation problems in a sealed cabinet containing home theater components. I needed a somewhat elegant solution since I had to install the fan in the back corner of the shelf where the television is located. This fan housing fit like a glove in a 3 circular hole through 3/4 plywood. I just slipped the fan through the top, and it is secured by 4 screws. The vent cover can be painted, but do not use plastic primer like I did - that just made a mess that was difficult to clean off the cover. Regular latex paint seems to work fine. The thermostat/power assembly is well designed, and the fan only runs when necessary. The only issue I have is its price. The fan is of good, not exceptional quality, although it is the easiest solution for closed cabinet ventilation I have been able to find.
