The ES31C22-5W Esprit Positioning System from Pelco consists of a high performance CCTV camera mounted on a motorized pan and tilt unit. Weatherproof Enclosure
Pelco designed this unit so that it can be used in virtually any weather condition. To this end, they equipped the housing with a pressurized integrated optics cartridge, a thermostatically controlled heater as well as a window defroster and defogger, sun shroud and insulation padding. Working in concert, these enable the camera with its motorized PT head to remain fully functional in severe weather conditions including in wind speeds up to 90 mph and in temperatures ranging from -50 to 140°F. Additionally, this system can be fully operational within two hours after start-up from an initial temperature of -13°F.
Integrated Wiper System
To further enhance outdoor reliability, this unit employs an integrated wiper system effective in keeping the viewing window clear in rain, snow and foggy conditions. Much like a car's wiper system, this unit's wiper is adjustable for speed and for delay between wipes. It is also possible to program automatic shutoff after a specific period. The wiper system is designed in such a way as to allow easy replacement of the wiper blades.
Color Camera with 22x Optical Zoom
An Esprit system is available with three types of cameras, each designed for a specific application. The defining characteristic of this camera is its low light capabilities and 22x optical zoom. When confronted by low light or tricky lighting situations, this camera has a host of internal controls that it can readily tap into and self correct. Its powerful zoom capabilities allow an operator to quickly bring people and objects into close view for better inspection.
Motorized Pan & Tilt Unit with 64 Preset Positions
Equipped with an industrial grade mechanized head, this unit offers a wide range of motorized pan, tilt and zoom operation including 360° of continuous pan, up to 100° a second pan speed and 64 presets positions with a 1/4 degree accuracy. A proportional pan and tilt function keeps the lens in the wide position under high speed pan-and-tilt operation to avoid images from "whizzing" by. An on-screen compass, tilt and zoom display provides an operator with precise PTZ information at a glance. Up to eight zones programmable for size can be used to block out certain areas of the image for privacy or legal reasons.
