If the Speedotron 102 is not working, would the first logical step be to replace the bulb?
Yes, if you are having an issue with your Speedotron 102 Black Line - 2400 Watt/Second Lamphead, I would first recommend changing the modeling lamp and flash tube, which would be the Impact ESS Lamp (250W, 120V), B&H # IMESS, or the Speedotron MW8QVC Flashtube, UV Coated - 3200w/s - for 102CC Head, B&H # SPFTUV102. If you have changed the lamps and the unit is still not operational, then I would recommend contacting Speedotron directly for assistance with your strobe head. Do your Speedotron soft boxes come with a speed ring that fits a 102 uv head? The ad reads that it does, but a review claims it does not and purchasing a separate ring was needed.
Speedotron softboxes include a speed ring to fit the 202 and 206 Black Line heads. Having said that, you would need the Speedotron Speed Ring for M11, 102, 103, 105, 106 Heads B&H # SPSRM11 in order to use the 102 lamp head on their softboxes. An image for the ring is listed below.

Will the Speedotron 102 work with a Norman 2000 power pack?
This Speedtron 102 head will only work on Speedtron Black Line power packs like the Speedotron 1205CX 1200 w/s Power Pack (120V) B&H # SP1205CX. A flash head that can work with a Norman P2000D power pack is the Norman LH2400 - 2400 Watt/Second Lamphead B&H # NOLH2400. Please see the image below for reference.
