Yukon Advanced Optics 2.5x42 Tactical Night Vision Rifle Scope
- Illuminated Duplex Reticle
- 2nd Generation Plus Intensifier
Yukon's NVRS Tactical series of night vision riflescopes deliver outstanding performance and features. They're an accessory driven line of scopes, and feature dual Weaver mounting rails to accommodate a myriad of customization possibilities.
This 2.5x42 2nd Generation Plus Tactical Night Vision Rifle Scope features a high performance 2nd generation intensifier tube that produces 45-54 lp/mm of resolution. Second generation plus intensifiers deliver excellent resolution levels, and are less dependent upon auxiliary illumination than earlier version of night vision. The housing is finely crafted from rugged titanium to endure harsh weather, real-world field conditions, and recoil from high-caliber .308 rifles.
For sighting at great distances, this NVRS comes equipped with an integral PULSE IR illuminator. This PULSE system employs a series of rapid IR energy bursts that reach out further into the darkness for an increased range of detection and recognition. Under optimum conditions, this PULSE IR illuminator can produce a beam that illuminates your field of view up to nearly 300 meters.
The NVRS Tactical Riflescope is designed with versatility in mind. The dual accessory rails enables the direct attachment of any Weaver-rail compatible accessory, and the wired remote switch allows you to activate the scope without lifting your hand off the rail or forend of your rifle.
There are many different variables that affect the distance that one can see with a night vision device, among them the object's size, the level of details being sought from the object and the conditions of observation. Night vision devices detect much further under a full moon and clear skies than they will under a new moon and cloudy skies. Many different formulas are used to determine the statistic of maximum viewing range and the method of calculation varies by manufacturer. The important factors to consider when evaluating any night vision device are the intensifier tube's generation, s/n ratio, level of magnification, specified resolution, along with the clarity & light transmission efficiency of the optical system.
All night vision devices sold by B&H have mechanisms in place to protect the intensifier tube from a sudden burst of bright light, but this does not mean that bright light doesn't damage the device. No matter what, bright light in any form is not good for the longevity and performance of image intensifier tubes.
