Speedotron GH7 reviews

7" Gel Filter Holder is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly!!! This snaps onto my old White lightning 10,000 BCPS coffee can type monolights with no problem. I can now use neutral density filters on my lights to control the output. I cut a small hole in the filter for the umbrella to fit through and now my lights work perfectly for my purpose! The clips that clip onto the strobe are well made. The two rings that hold the filter are attached with cheap brass paper fasteners but they do the job and are not a problem and are easily replaced if they do break at some point. These holders keep the filter from touching the modeling light and there is maybe a half inch of space between the holder and the strobe for the heat of the light to vent. I'm doing flat copy work and didn't want to put a filter on my camera lens as that would degrade the image a little. Putting the filter on the strobes is the best solution for me. I'm also working in close quarters so I can't move the lights back very far from the subject. I'm very happy with the product!!!! They solved my problem!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Misc. Light Control These filter holders are basic and should work ok. I plan to add rubber or silicone dabs to add some grip and holding power. The bass notebook brads will easily tear out of the filter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overpriced for what you get I bought two of these along with some polarizing gels to do some studio work with reflective objects. I thought they'd be a bit more substantial given the price, but there's not much to these. They are a tight fit on my Brown line 7 reflectors and the spring clips can be bent to adjust. The rings themselves are two pieces of black aluminum held together by 5 cent brass paper fasteners. Given how cheap the paper fasteners cost, I would have expected an extra set of them thrown in since they break after bending them a few times. On the plus side, the spring clips are securely riveted to the rings. The edges of the aluminum rings are crudely beveledby hand it looks liketo remove the sharp edges. I expected some sort of gasketa piece of rubber or somethingto help hold the gel in place, but it looks like I need to pierce the gel with the brass fasteners to hold it in place. Once mounted, there's about a 1 cm. gap that allows some airflow to keep the modeling light from overheating, but limiting how long the modeling lamps are turn on would probably be a good idea. They are not the most elegant solution, but they do the job. Even though they are highly specialized, I still expected more for my money.
