Sprint Systems of Photography Archive Fixer R... Overview

Films and prints absorb contaminants in processing which lead to deterioration unless completely removed. Water alone will not wash alum-hardened prints and films, and extended washing with water can stain prints.

Sprint Archive Fixer Remover swiftly and thoroughly removes all types of contamination, including thiosulfate and related compounds, microbiotic and mineral deposits from water supply, air-born microbes, and hydroquinone used in the manufacture of resin-coated, stabilization and gallery-type papers.

Archive Fixer Remover is also a vehicle for selenium toner, and an ingredient in Sprint's hardening stop bath solution.

One liter of concentrate will make 10 liters of working solution, enough for 600 - 8x10" fiber prints or 900 resin-coated prints or 600 rolls of film.

Archive has an indicator to signal exhaustion.

My go-to fixer for prints, with hardener added, good for film as well.

Is this a necessary product for developing?

A friend and I developed a dozen film roles without the use of the Fixer remover and were satisfied. After purchasing and using the fixer remover for developing films we were even more satisfied. The images looked markedly sharper and overall quality had improved. For a chemical that is diluted and can be reused a few times, it is definitely worth the purchase.

Is this different than a hypo clearing agent? I am going to try a residual hypo test but was informed that the test results are not reliable with a fixer remover, but they are reliable with hypo clearing.
Asked by: Kevin
You can use this in the same way as you would hypo clearing agent.
