question

Will two of these hold a crossbar and a 53 or 86 roll of seamless?
Asked by: Tony
Being that this stand has a weight limit of 11 lbs, you could hold a roll of 53 seamless from a crossbar, but holding a 86 seamless roll would not be safe.

would this stand strong enough for westcott 86 PLM umbrella?
Asked by: Nicole
I would not risk it unless you sandbag the base. This stand is very strong, but lightweight. I have a couple and love them. In studio I use C-stands but In the field almost exclusively. I frequently use them with Profoto B10's and 48 inch OCTAs. I have also used it with a 60inch diffused umbrellas... but Sandbag, Sandbag, Sandbag! Word of advice... I would also get the Matthew's Telescopic Baby Stand Extension to go with it to increase the height. I think it is adds additional 4 feet. Plus you can use them as a handheld pole for small strobes.

question

Hi! Is this stand sturdy enough to firmly hold a Spiderlight TD6? Thank you!
Asked by: Erin N.
No, the stand cannot support the weight. A stand as a rule like a tripod should support around double you are putting on it. The stand can support 11 lbs and the light with six bulbs is about 10.5 lbs and that is without any softbox or umbrella.

could i use a 1 or 2lb ankle weight on the center column to add some stability?
Asked by: Kevin
The Matthews Reverse Stand - 7' can be weighed down using ankle weights. But having only 1 or 2 pounds would not be sufficient to withstand winds from tumbling the Matthews Reverse Stand over.
