The Sea & Sea DX-1G Pro Kit features the DX-1G camera. This is actually a kit that includes a Sea & Sea housing that is rated to a depth of 164' (50 m), along with the Sea & Sea DX-1G camera. Since this camera has a shutter lag time of only 0.1 seconds it is well suited for underwater use. Of course, the camera is also ideal for snorkeling, surfing, skiing, fishing, sailing, or even certain industrial situations.
The camera features a large 2.5" TFT liquid crystal monitor. This makes framing underwater easy and fun. Since the camera has manual as well as program exposure modes you have complete control of balancing the available light to strobe light. These features along with exceptional macro capability of a 1/2" make the DX-1G's functionality and performance close to an SLR without the bulk, hassle and weight.
The Sea & Sea DX-1G housing allows access to all camera functions underwater. The camera is part of a system that includes strobes as well as a wide-angle conversion lens. This will nurture your creativity and allow expansion of your underwater photography skills.
The kit includes one Sea & Sea YS-110 high-performance strobe that is designed to be compatible with most cameras. The automatic pre-flash function will adjust for most digital or film cameras. The strobe has a 12-step guide number control for precision manual manipulation of light output. When used with the DX-1G, the strobe fires with the fiber optic cable. If you upgrade to a SLR housing with a hot shoe the strobe will fire with a 5-pin Nikonos sync cord. With a bright LED target light, recycle time of approximately 1 second and a guide number of 22 (ISO 100/m) this strobe will easily help produce stunning underwater photographs.
The Sea & Sea Sea Arm VII with tray is also included. The Sea Arm VII is constructed of fiberglass-reinforced plastic resin offering a lightweight yet strong arm. With the included components, you can create a custom arm setup for your lighting needs.
The included Sea & Sea Wide Angle Conversion Lens will increase the field of view to a 16mm lens on a 35mm camera. This allows you to get closer to large subjects. When you are closer to your subject, there is less water between your lens and subject; this increases contrast and color saturation. This lens can be added or removed underwater. You can use the included lens caddy to store the lens when not in use underwater.
