    Billingham Hadley Digital reviews

Digital Hadley Bag (Khaki with Tan Leather Trim) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Understated elegance This was purchased to tote my newly acquired Fujifilm XE-1 digital camera. The thing I like most about Billingham bags is the feel of the canvas cloth used in them. It's not the coarse, scratchy ballistic nylon that most bags are made of, but more like fine twill, very rugged, but smooth to the touch. The leather work is exceptional as well. The closest thing to a negative I could think of is that getting the velcro dividers positioned is a bit tricky, but I found using a large index card would allow me to get them placed where I wanted them. I then slipped the card out and pressed the velcro to the interior and the problem was solved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Billingham bag perfect for small outfit I'm really happy with my Billingham Digital Hadley bag. I like to work with minimal gear so it's just perfect. It either carries a Fujifilm X100 with lens hood fitted and wrist strap in place or a Leica M6 with lens and hood. Either are easy to get at and there's still room for other accessories. With my M6 and anything up to a 50 mm lens, it's ideal. Actually, you can set the bag up for a three-lens Leica M outfit by using one side of the bag (with its divider) and mounting, say, a 50 and a 28 back-to-back with one of those plastic couplers Leica used to make. Above all, the bag is superbly made and looks wonderful - like a fine piece of luggage. Amazing for the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bag! Was looking to upgrade my camera bag and was stuck between this one and an ONNA bag but opted for the Billingham due to the price and water resistance. Great quality canvas and leather trim work and overall perfect sized bag for what I needed. Fits my Nikon D5300 with my Sigma 35mm Art lens attached to the camera body as well as being able to fit my Tascam DR-40 beside the camera with the included dividers. Front pocket comfortably fits a small moleskine notebook, a pair of headphones and a pencil without stretching the bag out too much. Definitely worth picking up if you're only carrying one body and one lens.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quality Camera Bag with two exceptions Billingham is known for quality workmanship. A shoulder pad should be included because it is really needed. The negative to this bag is the sown in flap on the top that covers the contents of the bag. It would be nice if this could be folded into the bag or have a zipper so it could be removed. It slows you down to work out of these bags. The bags do not need a serial number, it is not practical and that flap could be made removable. Now to the cost, compared to similar bags this size it is maybe 25% - 30% more than it should really cost. If you can get over the price it is a good bag. Padding is ok and I think the cost is in the shell of the bag not the inserts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from beautiful bag Beautiful bag. Well made. Did not work for me though. I did not like the notion that there is only one pocket and it seems you could have things fall out of the pocket because it is not fully sealed when the cover is open. I need to carry a couple of lenses and other stuff. It seemed to fit my Olympus EP3 and a couple lenses. I would not rule it out if I was only carrying the camera. I also could not really justify the cost. All in all the bag itself is great just does not work for me at the moment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag, but is it worth the $? I've been using this bag for about 2 months, in rain, snow and fair weather. It's a great looking bag, which is intimately why I splurged and bought it. I treat it like an expensive purse. So far, it's serving me well - my Panasonic FZ200 fits snuggly in the bag with no wiggle room - which I like. The pocket has a very firm snap, which cannot be unsnapped with just one hand. The leather and brass outside fastener is still too new to slide off easily, which is probably a good thing. The bag makes me happy just looking at it, but honestly, I'm not sure it's worth the money. There are other good, uncomplicated, all-weather canvas bags out there for point and shoot cameras like mine. Before you lose your heart to this one, shop around for a better buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful, Well-Made Small Bag Love the construction and look of this bag -- perfect for looking casual and put-together on photoshoots! Look is great, sturdy buckle, adjustable wide strap...the one tiny issue I have is with the size. I'll be able to fit my Nikon D3100 + 35mm lens in there, but nothing else. It comes with two adjustable compartments so you can partition the inside however you like, but there really isn't any room for any extras -- just your camera. That's fine if you have a standard lens you use and you know what you want to shoot, but if you also like to carry around extra lenses, go for the bigger model. Still love this bag though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality Camera Bag I use the Digital Hadley Bag to hold my Panasonic Lumix FZ35. The padded interior perfectly protects the camera and there's plenty of extra space for filters, extra battery a notepad and even my wallet and phone. It's expensive, but the old-school quality makes up for it. It's discrete and I'm happy bringing it around everywhere I go without looking like tourist. I'm unusually picky about the aesthetics of objects and was so drawn to the Billingham range for its simple, utilitarian design. The luxurious, durable materials and craftsmanship make me think that this bag will be around forever, if anything, improving with age and wear. I got the shoulder pad soon after purchasing the bag which not only makes it more comfortable but improves the look as well. It's actually quite a necessary detail and should come included with the bag. I recommend the Hadley with great enthusiasm.
