Are the joints made of plastic or metal?
Depends on how you define "joints" maybe in 2018 everything was metal (according to the other 5 answers). Today, the tubes are aluminum, but everything that attaches to the center tubes and tightens is plastic. But that is not a problem - this is a small, lightweight stand with a 1.5 kg capacity. Its a great stand.
