The VPN01L ProSafe VPN Client Software (One-User License) from Netgear is a VPN client software package designed for deploying a secure remote-access solution across multiple connection types with Microsoft Windows operating platforms. This solution is compatible with Netgear's line of VPN/Firewall routers, as well as with IPsec VPN solutions from other leading manufacturers.

The application supports numerous security protocols and authentication methods, including advanced encryption standard (AES), data encryption standard (DES), 3DES, message-digest algorithm (MD5), and secure hash algorithm (SHA-1). Other types of support include public-key infrastructure (PKI) and internet key exchange (IKE main and aggressive modes) and a wide range of smart cards and certificate authorities.

It manages network address translation (NAT) traversal support for VPN clients behind devices that support VPN pass-through mode. It will also support multiple configurations, such as split tunneling, block tunneling, and central tunneling. Its redundant gateway capability and keep-alives further increase reliability.
