Convenient, Quick & Easy Counterweight For Mic Stands. For Light Stands Needing Heavier Weights I Still Use Sandbags. For Live Events I've Covered Orange Weight With Gaffer's Tape. Spray Paint Would Make It Permanently Black, But I Like Having The Orange Visibility Option.

The Manfrotto 022 Counter Balance Weight - 15 lbs, B&H # MA022, can clamp onto a pole with a diameter between 0.86 inches to 1.4 inches (22mm to 35mm). It would not open large enough to work with a truss with a 50mm diameter.

Yes, but you would have to take it off when folding the stand. I suggest to attache it to the center pole as low as possible for best result.
