Samsung L830 Overview

The stylish Samsung L830 Digital Camera with its metal front cover and minimalist design provides a superb resolution of 8.1 megapixels, and a 3x optical zoom. It is ideally suited for use at family gatherings, picnics, school exhibitions or trips, and Samsung exclusive Multi Charge system means that recharging and data transmission can be done simultaneously connecting a combined recharging and USB cable, thereby making the camera well suited for travel.

The camera is equipped with Samsung's proprietary ASR (Advanced Shake Reduction) and high sensitivity ISO 1600, which ensures sharply-focused images without flash in an indoor environment, and the Face Recognition (AF & AE) function recognizes individuals and takes the best portrait, while the Red-eye fix feature takes care of the red-eye phenomenon during and after shooting. In addition, the Samsung L830 has a powerful movie function that records MPEG4 video at SVGA resolution (800 x 1592) with a Movie Stabilizer function and a Successive Recording function.

The Mode Dial of the Samsung L830 enhances ease of use when operating the camera with only one hand, and the "E" (Effect Key) button provides the user the ability to quickly access special effect functions including color effects, highlight adjustments, photo frames and composite shot functions. Furthermore, the 2.5" Intelligent TFT LCD provides improved contrast and color reproduction for easy image framing, editing and reviewing, and the display automatically adjusts its brightness according to the surrounding brightness levels for optimum visibility.

8.1 Megapixel Resolution
The Samsung L830 can produce images with an astounding 8.1 megapixels of resolution, enabling you to print detailed pictures at larger sizes - even poster size prints.
3x Optical Zoom Lens
The high quality Samsung NV Lens provides 3x optical zoom, and produces images that are incredibly sharp and bright. The Camera is also capable of providing digital zoom up to 5x for a total combined zoom of 15x that will allow you to capture details from far away.
Superb Macro Capability
The Super Macro mode of the L830 can provide beautifully sharp focus as close as 0.4" (1cm) to the subject, allowing you to photograph the delicate detail of a flower or show of the brilliance of a jewelry item to sell on e-Bay.
High Sensitivity
The Samsung L830 has the ability to provide a sensitivity level of up to ISO 1600, thereby enabling you to take clearer indoor pictures in poor light without camera shake or image blur.
ASR (Advanced Shake Reduction) Function
The ASR function prevents the degradation of image clarity and color which is sometimes found in flash photography. With ASR the effects of image blur are reduced in lower light conditions. You can even take well exposed, sharper pictures in low light condition without using a flash at all, which guarantees brighter and more natural pictures.
Wise Shot Feature
This clever feature allows you to choose the best picture by taking 2 shots simultaneously - one using ASR and one using a flash, and then simply choose the image you prefer.
Red-eye Fix
The Red-eye Fix function programmed into the camera automatically eliminates red eye in shoot and play modes, allowing you take a natural portrait photo.
Face Recognition AF & AE
The built-in Face Recognition AF & AE feature detects up to nine different faces, enabling you to take perfect portraits of friends and family. In addition to automatically adjusting focus and brightness to optimum levels, this feature also senses and removes red-eye.
Advanced Movie Functions
The L830 includes the i-Movie Mode that supports SVGA quality (800 x 592) for an enhanced video shooting experience, plus VGA and lower resolution recording for home viewing or internet use, and you can even edit your movies right on the camera itself. Furthermore the camera includes a Movie Stabilizer function, which helps maintain steady recording of a subject by automatically detecting and correcting any camera movements, and a Successive Recording function that allows you to pause and resume video recording as desired and merge those multiple movie into a single file.
Convenient Mode Dial
The user-friendly mode dial makes it easier to get great shots of your subject by giving instant access to the appropriate mode for each individual situation. The Children mode, with its open aperture and fast shutter speeds, lets you "freeze" children and other subjects in fast-moving action shots, and the Night mode automatically uses the slow synchronization function to help you get clearer and brighter pictures at night. The Portrait mode delivers more realistic, flattering people shots with improved red-eye reduction.
Internal and Expandable Memory
The camera is equipped with 10 megabytes of internal memory so there is no need for a memory card to take pictures. The camera memory is also expandable to much higher capacities using Secure Digital (SD) flash memory cards (also compatible with MMC and SDHC cards)
2.5" Intelligent LCD Display
The Samsung L830 has a 2.5" LCD that provides superb contrast and color reproduction, allowing you to enjoy a wider and clearer image. Furthermore, the Intelligent LCD automatically detects changes in environmental illumination and adjusts its brightness to compensate and maintain optimal image viewing.
The "E" Button
The Effects or "E" Button allows users to easily access a slew of creative effects that are available right in the camera. You can do basic editing functions like crop your image or adjust colors, use creative color effects like sepia or negative (inverted colors), or use one of the fun effect in the camera such as composite images or add photo frames that are appropriate for many occasions.
Direct Print Capable
The L830 supports PictBridge Direct printing so you cam print out beautiful images with out the need of a computer. Just connect the camera to a PictBrige compatible printer and print your favorite pictures the way you want them - it is that easy.
