I tried using my pencil mic mid-side setup using standard microphone stands and clips. It worked, sort-of. But this AMS22 setup from Schoeps makes life MUCH easier--making the two mics easier to align, and is obviously more compact. I'd purchase it again.

Should only be used for MS-Stereo: One figure-8 and one microphone of choice, e.g. cardioid, hyper cardioid, perhaps omni (gives less of channel separation than the two other prevailing patterns) In addition to the Schoeps pics, it will work with similar microphones having the same dimensions and weight.

This shock mount is really designed to work with a CMC series mic with a 20mm diameter. The CMIT has a 21mm diameter. It may work, but we could not guarantee compatibility.
