The nio 2/4 from Novation is a two input, four output, mobile USB interface suitable for the project desktop studio or the performing DJ. With two headphone outputs, the interface is also an ideal solution for the classroom environment. Custom drivers include a built-in powerful multi-effects engine that eases the host computer's CPU workload, while providing excellent stability .
The unit's multi-effects engine includes a selection of guitar amplifier and distortion pedal effects, as well as filters, delay, chorus and phaser effects derived from Novation's Supernova II synthesizer. Additionally EQ, compression, gating and reverb solutions are available via Focusrite, undisputed signal processing experts.
Direct Mix Monitoring is accessible via the nio's hardware, allowing for independent switching between three different monitor mixes. The user can easily create custom mixes of two stereo computer audio streams alongside live inputs with applied effects. Ableton Live Lite 6 software is bundled with the interface along with a host of other software and loops.
