In years of using this support, never ran across this problem. The ends will NOT fit into Savage backdrop tubes. The ends require 1.75 ID tubes, while the Savage backdrops are somewhat less than that. While this isn't really a problem with the Manfrotto holder, it would be good if the ends came off completely to allow skinnier rolls to fit. The black ends are permanently riveted in, so to use this bar with the Savage backdrop rolls, one needs to cut the roll and tape it to the bar. Not real optimal for a quick setup or change.

How do you feed the paper roll or background fabric over the big ends of this pole? Are they removable? Thanks.
Most seamless paper rolls have a hollow cardboard core in the center which is over 2" and which will accept this cross bar inside of it. With a fabric background, it all depends on the make/model of the background, as some pole pockets can be wide and other can be narrow.

Has anybody had any trouble with the 107 paper backdrop rolls fitting on this 108 pole? Is there room (after the paper is loaded) for the pole ends to sit on their supports?
That crossbar is designed for 107 seamless paper background while being attached to stands.
