Flat Stitch
A flat stitch is a series of images, where the camera moves in parallel to the level of the object being captured. This type of stitch can be simulated using images that have a very high focal length which is typically the operating mode of a scanner for example. Therefore, the 'Flat Stitch' function is very useful to easily scan an image whose format is larger than that of your scanner, such as maps, architectural plans etc.
Create Optimal Prints
Stitcher is the best way to create high-res panoramas which can then be printed in very large sizes. The user can fine-tune the settings to obtain "the ideal panorama" in terms of size, resolution and image format. Stitcher also calculates the best-size rendering setting, according to the original size of the input images.
Environment Maps
Thanks to a variety of rendering options (spherical, cylindrical, cubic), a panorama created within Stitcher can be integrated into a 3D scene in order to generate a background image, reflections and lighting with complete photo-realism. This technique consists of mapping a photo-realistic environment onto the interior of a cube or sphere using a 3D software product, then importing the various other elements which make up your project. The panorama is then used as a background decor and/or it is used to light you 3D scene or object.
Create Matte Paintings
A "matte painting" is a very wide picture which is used as a background image in special effects for films and videos. Stitcher allows you to create large-sized panoramas at high resolution, making it ideal for the creation of "matte paintings". This technique has been employed with very effective results in a number of top movies, including "Bewitched" and "Van Helsing". In addition, the interoperability with Photoshop now also enables you to edit your matte painting in Adobe Photoshop (or the software of your choice).
Add Tripod Cap Image
You can insert an image which will be automatically aligned at the bottom center of your panorama to hide the tripod. Use the provided tripod cap image which you can use free of charge, or you can use your own image. Insert it in your panorama and the cap image will then fully embedded in your panorama.
