Live Switching
VT[5] is designed to be used for Live Switching applications. It supports up to 32 external video inputs when using optional expansion modules. It can switch 16:9 and 4:3 video and even includes advanced matte capabilities for luminance and chroma keying. Its LiveSet virtual studio environments support multiple camera angles and focal lengths, real-time shadows, reflections, and much more; you'll be able to use the LiveSet Constructor to create and customize these sets.
Titling and Character Generation
You'll be able to create titles and characters in the software, using a WYSIWYG editor. Interactive templates are available for CG, all of which allow you to utilize any installed TrueType font. Powerful drawing tools that allow you to create boxes, circles, splines, and images are also included.
Digital Disk Recorder
The VT-DDR is a digital video recorder complete with a multi-format, multi-standard on-screen video player interface. The recorder allows you to cue clips to roll when triggered by a switcher, and you can even use multiple DDRs simultaneously. You'll be able to record video in DV and uncompressed formats.
Signal Processing, Video Scopes, and Monitors
The software's integrated signal correction allows you to adjust brightness, contrast, hue, and saturation. You'll be able to calibrate computer and analog sources, and adjust via 70 parameters. Waveform video scope and other monitors are also available, including zebra stripes.
SpeedEDIT NLE
VT[5] features the SpeedEDIT nonlinear video editor. SpeedEDIT is completely resolution independent, and supports multi-format video on a single timeline. It allows you to edit HDV and DVCPRO HD footage natively, with full support for the MXF wrapper format. You'll be able to output video to WMV HD and VC-1 formats.
Video Painting and Animation
The software features 2D video painting and animation using Aura Video Paint. This allows you to paint over live video via four-point pixel tracking. The module also supports 3D compositing, includes a stroke recorder, and allows you to instantly use graphic alpha channels.
DVD Authoring by U-Lead
VT[5] includes a powerful DVD authoring module by U-Lead. DVD Workshop supports full-featured DVD authoring and allows you to encode a disc directly from a VT-Edit project. It supports MPEG-2 encoding and decoding.
SX-84 Expansion Box
