This Sennheiser MZL 8003 Remote Cable is a 10' extension cable that connects between an MKH-8000 series microphone head and the XLR module, to make the microphone extremely unobtrusive. This makes it ideal for almost invisible hanging of the microphone from the ceiling.

Sennheiser SEMZL80 Reviews
very well made, just not long enough
My three stars on this cable is really a short sightedness of my own: the cable at ten feet is not really long enough for my purposes. I should have realized that fact before making the purchase. So please understand that I think this cable is awesome, but it is maybe too short for a lot of users---for me I want to place my MKH8050 capsule on a boom pole for interviews and keep the weight of an XLR cable off the boom + stand (The MZL 8003 cable is substantially lighter weight than a 10 foot long mic cable with XLR connectors) and also deliver the MZF-8000 low cut filter/ pad module at a more convenient place than 7 feet in the air above the interview talent, where I can make adjustments to the low cut or pad the signal if I need to. The longer versions of this cable would be a better choice for me, and I will be adding those cables to my rig in the future. As for quality and build, the cable is GREAT. It connects together your Sennheiser MKH80xx modules exactly as it is supposed to, permitting the user to remotely place a lightweight capsule away from the XLR connector. On an interesting side note, if you have two MKH80xx capsules and a single Sennheiser MZD 8000 AES audio mic module, you can find a schematic (make a search, I think it was from a Sound On Sound reviewer) online where you take two of these cables and sacrifice one end to build a Y cable for delivering two channels of sound via AES from a stereo mic set up, over a single, light weight cable, which would be super cool when flying a stereo pair of mics in an auditorium.
Excellent cable for 8000 Series Mics
I have two of these 10 foot extender cables for two different uses. When recording a musical performance I use them to reduce the visual profile and weight aloft on the mic stand. I use two MKH8020 mics or two MKH8040 mics in XY or ORTF configuration. The other use is in production sound mixing, I use this cable to reduce the size of a MKH8050 or 8040 mic when used as a plant mic. The cable is thin and flexible and easier to hide on set than a standard mic cable.
