I don't think so.
I bought it as extra protection for the lens.
I usually buy two filters for every lens - one of these clear glass filters and a UV filter.
It's already saved one camera (in this case, a Nikon P900) which I dropped at the Werribee Zoo. I broke the outer filter... the inner filter and the lens glass did not break.

Yes, so long as it is the same filter thread size. If you use an 82mm UV protective filter, you can use an 82mm ND.

Tiffen does not list the actua light transmission on the Tiffen 67mm Ultra Clear Digital HT Filter. But it is a clear filter and blacks almost no light.
