Characterized by its fine grain, high sharpness, and wide exposure latitude, this ISO 320/26° film also distinguishes itself with notably smooth tonal gradations and brilliant highlights. It is well-suited for portraiture and excels when used with controlled interior lighting or flash illumination, as well as low-contrast outdoor light. Professional Tri-X 320 Black and White Negative Film (8 x 10", 10 Sheets) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from UNBEATABLE This is the finest black and white 8x10 sheet film available today. There is no equal. The thick KODAK ESTAR base is extremely stable and handles drastic shifts in temperature with great reliability. The emulsion renders images with unbridled acuity. If your image is not razor sharp, perhaps you should use a DSLR with autofocus, because clarity, definition, and dynamic range are found in abundance in this film. Unlocking the potential of this gem-like material requires dedication to camera work and a passion for the silver print.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long Live Tri-X! What can I say about Tri-X? It's still the greatest, especially in large format. It gives me the best tonal range of all the films I have tried over the last 37yrs.I have used 320 in medium and large format, and 400 in 35. I shoot mostly people in studio and available light(where 320 really shines),giving me that extra stop in open shade with 8x10. It unfortunately it is getting harder to find ,except at B&H! A note to Kodak:Don't take my Tri-X away like you did my Kodachrome 25! Tri-X 320 is still the best product Kodak ever made.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great film - Terrible price! I've been using this film for thirty years but like many feel little choice but to switch over to their U.K. competitor as the price of 8x10 Tri-X in no longer within reason. A few months ago the cost of these boxes went up 50% overnight! These boxes are effectively now double the price of the competitions equivalent! As a long term Tri-X sheet film user I feel insulted by pricing policies which are completely out of line with the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Tonal Rendering! 8x10 Tri-X Pan is a wonderful film for large format portraiture. It renders skin tones superbly, holds highlights, and is easy to use. It is my favorite large format film. 8x10 Tri-X Pan is a poor value compared to other available 8x10 films. If Tri-X Pan film was less expensive, it would be the only large format film that I would shoot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best b&w film ever I use it for portrait photography, for platinum prints. Great tonal range and Pyro development results. I am sorry not to find anymore the 20x24 sheets ( I still have a couple of expired but good boxes), and also I would like to find the 25 or 50 sheets for the 8x10 sheets

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Universally admired film For photographers who work in black and white film, Tri-X is legendary, a standard. It is the film all photography schools use to teach photography. It is versatile and especially is the very large format, yield images great image quality where increased grain is not an issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Timeless classic My favorite emulsion. I have used miles of Tr-x in 35 and 120. And there in nothing like a print from a sheet of 8x10 Tri-x. The grain structure is beautiful and it is possible to get great prints from marginal negatives thanks to the film's broad exposure latitude.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought the last boxes while I could I heard on December 15, 2011 that Kodak had just announced that Tri-X would no longer be available in 8x10 sheets. I have used Tri-X for 35 years for portraits and candids, and bought some of the last boxes in order to take pictures of the kids as they grow up.
