Instrument Rig & DJ Applications
The M-8Dx is designed to defend your gear from spikes and surges commonly found at gigs, practice spots, bars, and clubs. RFI/EMI filtration helps produce a quieter tone without pops, crackles, and unwanted radio reception. Additionally, dual pull-out lamps let you see your rack without turning the house lights on, while the digital voltmeter lets you monitor incoming voltage.
Recording & Pro Audio Applications
The RFI/EMI filtration lowers the noise floor caused by the dirty AC power coming into your console or DAW. Surge and spike protection helps keep your sensitive equipment from performing incorrectly or burning out due to spikes and surges. With a 15A circuit breaker and nine total outlets, you can power a number of different pieces of equipment.

It's 120 VAC. The digital readout shows the variance's. In my area it usually read's "123 VAC". I have lived in another area with similar readings. This is a high quality unit and great value for the money. The adjustable and switchable light's are great for rack mounting and the power cord is long enough to reach most outlets. Hope this help's.I own three of these.Never any problem(s)

Yes, the incandescent bulbs included with the Furman Merit Series M-8Dx can be replaced with LED bulbs.

Yes, the Merit Series M-8Dx would be a good choice for use with a hi-fi system for power distribution. The added RFI and EMI filtering is going to protect against noise transmitted to the devices from the AC source. Please note this is not a regulator, so it will not auto-regulate the voltage to maintain optimal performance from the amplifier, which can also be a source of noise in an audio system. The most optimal setup for Hi-Fi would be to use a voltage regulator unit like the Furman M-8x AR in conjunction with a unit like the M-8Dx.

Is there a version with switches for each outlet? I'd like to be able to turn off equipment that doesn't have switches without unplugging.

Furman does not offer another version of the Merit Series M-8Dx 9-Outlet Power Conditioner with individual on/off switches for each outlet. We do have other rackmountable power supplies that have the individual on/off switches but these are only power supplies, without the RFI/EMI filtration and most without the surge protection that the M-8Dx provides. The Pyle Pro PDBC70 19" Rackmountable Power Strip Surge Protector (B&H # PYPDBC70) offers nine switched outlets and does also feature surge protection. The ProX 10-Outlet Rackmount Power Distributor (B&H # PRXPC10USB), the Pyle Pro PDBC10 Switchable 8 Outlet Rack Mount Power Supply (B&H # PYPDBC10), the Technical Pro SURGE9 Rackmount 9-Outlet Power Strip with 5V USB Charging Port (B&H # TESURGE9), and the American DJ POW-R BAR RACK USB 10-Outlet 2-USB Rackmount Power Distributor (B&H # AMPWRBARRCKU) are all basic power supplies that have switched outlets. Some of the models listed above also include USB charging ports.
