K&M 23550 Overview

The 23550 Adjustable Microphone Bar from K&M is an adjustable microphone bar that connects to the top of a microphone stand. This unit will accommodate up to two microphone or booms. It features 3/8" locking screws, which allow you to adjust the position of the microphones on the bar.

Adjustable
Locking screws allow you to adjust the position of the microphones on the bar. Two knurled screws are featured and the bar has no parts to lose as it connects directly to the top of mic stands with a 3/8" thread.

Little things make the difference.

The difference between a nice recording experience and frustration is often defined by little things...like this microphone bar that appears to be of exceptional precision. Put it on the stand, get your microphones adjusted and they stay exactly in the position you want them to be... slow motion sliding due to loosening screws whatsoever. Definitely worth more than i paid for it. Thank you for the recommendation!

Not for short mics in NOS

The bar is fine as far as construction, like all K&M stuff. I bought it specifically to use my Line Audio CM4 in NOS, which requires 11.8 separation between capsules at 90 degrees. The maximum space this can do with the CM4 is 11, so be aware if you have short mics (the CM4 are 70mm long) that you can not do NOS, you will have to do DIN, XY, or ORTF (assuming cardioid). It is not really worth trying to return it since it is so inexpensive, so I'll keep it.

Does this come with (1) female 5/8 to male 3/8 ...

Does this come with (1) female 5/8 to male 3/8 adapter for the middle mount and (2) female 3/8 to male 5/8 adapters for the stereo mic mounts?

This stereo mount does come with all of the adapters required for 3/8-inch or 5/8-inch mounting of the microphones or on to a stand.

The thread size of the middle mounting hole is 3/8 . However, this unit comes with a 5/8 adapter that fits in the middle mounting hole. This adapter can then be screwed on the end of any standard 5/8 microphone, just like you would do with a mic holder.
