77mm White Balance Lens Cap is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from The white balance cap reall works. I recently bought a Dot Line 77mm white balance cap. It really works. Just set your exposure, pop on the cap, take a picture and import it into your custom white balance program on your camera. If your using flash just make sure you pop the flash when you have the cap on. The only problem is that the screw on ring that the cap is supposed to fit on has poor threads and it can get stuck on your filter. Just throw it away. The white balance cap fits snugly enough on the lens anyway. Sure beats 80 bucks for an Expodisc.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Need on the flywb help I bought this for upcoming weddings and events to help with white balance when the lighting is subject to change in different areas. I wish it were easier to put against the lens with a lens hood on. It's a little akward to hold against my lens, switch to manual focus, and then hit the shutter button. The white balance settings were not as accurate as I thought, but close enough to get me in range. But for the price I paid I guess that's worth it. I only plan on using this for weddings/events - for studio portraits, I'll stick to my trusty white balance reflector. Also wish DOT would include more detailed instructions (that's the case with all their products - okay products, but sometimes you have to do more research on how to use them).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! Nothing wrong with this at all. I ran tests with this against the ExpoDisc. Results were essentially identical (and correct). These are both incident light readers, but you don't have to stand at the subject's location (helpful when you're visiting the Grand Canyon, et. al.), just screw it into your camera lens and point it toward the sky (away from the sun), and bingo! It's lightweight, takes up very little space in your bag, and, best of all, you can buy nearly a dozen of them for the price of ONE ExpoDisc. Enjoy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from perfectly simple! I really like the design of this lens cap--when you attach the ring the cap is snap-on-snap-off for quick photo taking (and also beneficial when your lens has a large hood on it, which I usually have on mine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh Its ok. Cheap plastic as expected, and doesnt stay attatched lens. Much cheaper than the $counterpart. In a controlled environment it may work well. I found it to be too blue.I think my 60D does a better job at determining white balance than this, but it is subjective. I do not carry this in my camera bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for product or studio Just place the white balance cap in front of the lense, aime, shot, and use the file to balance your other images. I used it for still photography, I wouldn't recommend it for photojournalism or quick need to have some time to use the cap, set the camera, and do the final shots, but it is really good and useful if you have time for set up; maybe product photography or still portraits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected Place the cap over your lens, point it in the direction of your subject, snap a picture and set your camera to custom white balance. The white balance is set for the shoot. Pictures look great. I wish it would attach to the lens in a different way. This design screws on to the lens, I think it should clip on like a lens cap. This would make it a little easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice product for the price I use this cap for setting my custom white balance in the field when I don't want to subject my x-rite color checker to harsh conditions. this cap works fine on all of my lenses up to 77 mm. I simply hold it over the lens, aim it towards the light source and take my shot, then it is an easy step to set the in camera custom white balance. the results check fine against my color checker during the calibrations that I have preformed with both products, and for the price I trust the results for most of my field photography needs.
