For large format ink jet photographic prints does ...

For large format ink jet photographic prints does one need buffered or un-buffered interleaving paper? Seems I have heard both options, but seems un-buffered might be for chemical/darkroom prints? Just don't want something that will fade colors, or black density or dis-color in any way.
