    VariZoom VZ-DVTRAVELER reviews

VZ-DVTRAVELER DV Camera Support System is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Suport System Overall, it is a little bulky but very stable. I use an XH-A1 and it is easy to connect and disconnect from the unit. The construction is solid and this works well with many other attachments.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Good Start Actually works pretty nicely. If your using the EX-3 like I am, it's still front heavy but the spring loaded arm really helps support the weight of the camera and at the same time keep fairly smooth shots. My only beef is that the screws holding the different levels of the shock resistant arm came lose the first week I had it...resulting in springs popping out and grease all over the place making it a little hard to tighten back up, especially in the middle of a shoot. But all-in-all, I'm very pleased with it. It definitely makes 12 hour hand held shoots tolerable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very efficient product I am using the VZ-DV TRAVELLER with the Sony HXR-NX5U. Stability, comfort, versatility and freedom to move are some of the benefits of the Support System. For me, a disadvantage is that the VZ-DV TRAVELLER plate, is not compatible with my Manfrotto tripod (Mvh502A Head, 546B).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable My brother's brother-in-law cousins uncle bought one of these for a their daughters wedding. The shots were incredible and stayed together despite him falling over the table at the reception with the camera and stabilizer. Truly amazing technology.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst system ever So I bought this system on a rush after someone robbed my Pag Orbitor. I was expecting at least something similar with some minor downsides. Well, I got to say I'm extremely disappointed on the design of the DV Traveler. When I first opened the box I noticed that the handles are completely welded to the head that supports the camera, so I cannot rotate the camera sideways or tilt it up and down... If you try to do so, the shoulder support will get off it's position and fly around while you move the camera. The next thing I miss from the Orbitor is that you could let go the handles while in use and the orbitor would tend to move the camera to the center position so it won't fall. The DV traveler, on the contrary, it tries to get the camera off the center position so you can never let go the handles or the camera and the whole system will fall apart. If this happens the spring that holds the tip of the suspension rod will break (happened to me) and you need to replace this or the functionality of the system will get even more annoying. So the cost difference between this DV traveler and the Pag Orbitor is not much but talking about functionality, the Orbitor actually works for your movements, while the DV travler limits you pretty much to do anything. I use this system to shoot weddings and social events, I used the Pag Orbitor for more than 3 years on over a hundred events and loved it. I have used the DV Traveler on 3 events an I hate it so much

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great support this product works as promised. it really assists in stabling my sony HDR fx1 i wish it could however have a little more weight on the shoulder because the shoulder piece keeps flipping off. also the cushion keeps falling off. but all in all a great product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tool The package arrived in Australia within 5 business day, and just before christmas too. Sturdy and strong build. For the price this is an excellent shoulder rig. The shoulder component does not bend/form to my shoulder but other than that is great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product The DV Traveler is a wonderful product. We also have the Zacuto but I like this much better and for the price you can't beat it. Quality, durable and inexpensive, what more could you ask for -
