The 3x optical zoom smc PENTAX lens incorporates several aspherical elements for superb image quality and incredible detail without optical flaws.
Digital SR (Shake Reduction)
The Digital Shake Reduction mode reduces camera shake and subject blur when photographing still images by automatically adjusting the camera sensitivity to a high ISO setting (as high as ISO 3200), thereby enabling photography with faster shutter speeds and consequently your images will show less blur.
Face Recognition Function
The Face Recognition function automatically detects and focuses on faces, regardless of where the people appear in the photo frame. In addition, optimal exposure settings are automatically set so that the area with faces is highlighted, even in backlit situations. Plus, the Dynamic Range Adjustment included in the camera can be combined with the Face Recognition feature for impressive portrait photos.
Auto Picture Mode
The Auto Picture mode in the Optio S12 automatically determines the shooting conditions for Landscape, Portrait, Night Scene, and Normal modes and selects the optimum settings for each subject.
Full-Motion Video Mode
The high-quality extended movie mode captures MPEG-4 DivX format clips at up to VGA resolution (640 x 480 @ 30fps) using the Pentax Video SR anti-shake system for steady video images and the camera includes a range of built-in editing features, so you'll get exactly the video clip you want - right out of the camera.
High-speed Operation
Get a quick response with an almost unnoticeable shutter lag of 0.006 seconds, A startup time of 2.1 seconds and a speedy between shot time of less than 1 second.
2.5-inch LCD Monitor
The large color LCD monitor makes framing, focusing and the checking of recorded images extremely easy with the incredible clarity of 232,000 pixels, in addition, the Anti-reflective coating and Bright mode allows for easy composition and review of images, even under poor lighting conditions.
Direct Print Capable
When the Optio S12 camera is connected to a PictBridge supported printer, you have complete control of the printer's functions including automatic printing using DPOF, index printing, partial image printing, multiple copy printing, exact size printing and more. It's amazingly simple because you operate it all straight from your camera.
