question

While recording from the Roland R-44, if there is a power issue and the unit dies (i.e. the batteries fall out or someone knocks the AC power out with no batteries) will it save the audio that was recorded before the issue? Will the file be saved?
Asked by: Brian B.
The Roland R44 does not offer a safety feature for these type of issues. In the event of a power loss, a file may be present however unreadable. The unit offers a REPAIR function that may enable you to retrieve the recording in some cases.

question

Would the recorder pick up impact noise from an apartment above?
Asked by: Anonymous
It will depend on the sensitivity you would set in the recorder... This is more used for having line feeds into the recorder.... Till date it has performed brilliantly for me..... crystal clear sound.

question

How are the built in effects? I'm particularly interested in the compressor and the noise gate. Can you use two effects simultaneously?
Asked by: Jason J.
Don't worry about the effects, this is used for sound recording. Anything else you are going to need to do in post. Post is better.
