The Axis Communications AXIS 211M is a professional grade IP camera equipped with a 1.3 megapixel CMOS image sensor. Consequently, it can provide you with the level of detail not available with a conventional camera. As such, it is particularly useful tool for monitoring entrances, checkouts and similar areas of a critical security nature. Some of its other important features include PoE for versatile installation options, audio I/O ports for two-way voice communication and a motion detection function providing heightened security and better data management.
Highly Detailed Images
The key benefit to a megapixel sensor is the ability to produce images of exceptional clarity, which in turn makes it easier to identify people and objects. Another advantage of a megapixel camera is the ability to cover a greater area (up to 3x) as compared to a conventional camera installed at a comparable distance and fitted with a comparable lens.
Progressive Scan
Images are captured using a progressive rather than interlaced scanning method. This eliminates the blurring effect when viewing a freeze-frame of a fast moving object.
Simultaneous M-JPEG & MPEG-4
Images are captured simultaneously using the MJPEG and MPEG-4 compression methods. This gives a user greater freedom over how data is distributed over the network while taking into consideration such crucial factors as available storage space and network bandwidth.
PoE (Power over Ethernet)
PoE technology is the ability to transmit power to the camera over the camera's Ethernet cable using an optional PoE injector. This greatly simplifies the installation process, allowing camera placement in areas with no direct access to an AC outlet.
2-Way Audio
A built-in microphone on the camera not only allows users to listen in on an area, but when used together with an external speaker makes it possible to communicate verbally over a network.
