Communications Specialties Scan Do Overview

The Scan Do HD Scan Converter from Communications Specialties converts DVI inputs at resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 to SD- or HD-SDI output for broadcast-quality imaging. It supports all SD-SDI resolutions and SMPTE HD-SDI output resolutions up to 1080i. This unit is also compatible with both NTSC and PAL standards.

Its genlock with full-phasing control locks SD/HD-SDI output to tri-level sync or black burst. The device can be controlled with front-panel pushbuttons, RS-232 connectivity, or via your LAN or the internet using its standard Ethernet ports. Fiber-optic and coaxial outputs are also standard features.

Image processing controls include brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, and sharpness. It also offers variable flicker reduction, as well as horizontal and vertical zoom & shrink while maintaining aspect ratio. This unit can be used in a desktop configuration or mounted in a standard 19" equipment rack using the included rackmount kit.

DVI to SD/HD-SDI Conversion
Use this converter to accept DVI signals up to 1920 x 1080 and convert them to any SD-SDI resolution and SMPTE HD-SDI resolutions up to 1080i.
Genlock
A standard genlock feature ensures signal synchronization.
NTSC & PAL
This unit supports both NTSC and PAL standards.
Image Processing
Image processing controls include brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, and sharpness, among other selectable parameters.
Desktop or Rackmount
The unit can be used in a desktop setup or mounted in a rack with the included rackmount kit.
