The Solid State Logic Duende Mini is a FireWire based external DSP processor which includes 1 genuine SSL plug in that was designed to bring the classic sound of SSL consoles to studios of every size. Following in the footsteps of the original 1-rack space Duende, the Mini has achieved ultra-portability with its "one third rack-width" form factor. It connects to any FireWire equipped PC or Mac computer and provides 16 mono channels of plug-in processing power to your host digital audio workstation software.
Included is the SSL developed 'EQ and Dynamics Channel' software plug-in. Based on the EQ and compressor stages of the venerable XL 9000 K Series mixing console, 'EQ and Dynamics Channel' features separate high and low pass filters, a four band parametric equalizer, an independent compressor/limiter, and a gate/expander. Since SSL was the first company to include dynamics and EQ on every channel in a mixing console in 1977, the idea with the Mini and the 'EQ and Dynamics Channel' plug-in is to make this amount of processing available to any portable DAW.
