Plus it is equipped with professional options allowing for automated document processing.

Equipped with the I.R.I.S. ICR (Intelligent Character Recognition) engine, Readiris Pro reads formatted hand printed capital letters, figures or symbols, so scan of documents containing formatted manual notes are promptly recognized.
Intelligent Page Analysis
Readiris Pro automatically identifies the texts, tables and graphics on the scanned document and perfectly reproduces them in the output file. It's even possible to choose your preferred paper format (A4, Letter, etc.).
Extensive PDF Support and Creation
Convert PDF files to editable PDF, text PDF, or other text documents, or convert "read-only" PDF documents, then Generate PDF files with text placed over the image and you'll obtain the perfect archiving format with a nice on screen legibility and an optimized file size.

If barcodes are printed on your documents, Readiris can extract the information they contain in the output file. All widespread bar code symbologies are supported including Codabar, Code 128, Code 39, Code 39 extended, Code 39 HIBC, Code 93, Discrete 2 of 5, EAN-13, EAN-2, EAN-5, EAN-8, Interleaved 2 of 5, MSI pharmaceutical, MSI-Plessey, Kodak patch code, PDF-417, PostNet, PostNet 32, PostNet 52, PostNet 62, UCC-128, UPC-A and UPC-E.
Intelligent Indexing Based on Bar Code Reading
An XML index will be created with the information contained in your bar codes. (20 one- and bi-dimensional bar codes are recognized from the PDF 417.)
Page Deskewing
The "Deskew Page" command straightens pages which were scanned at an angle for optimized OCR recognition accuracy.
Text Formatting
When processing a document you can select how you want the recognition result to show in your new document including the ability to delineate body text, retain word and paragraph spacing, recognize and recreate editable tables - even recreate the source document with text blocks, tables, graphics, bulleted and number lists recreated in the same place and the word and paragraph formatting maintained across the recognition.
Intuitive User Interface
In just a few clicks, the intuitive user interface lets you convert any document into an editable document in your favorite application while the status window gives you all the information you need about your scanned documents (source, resolution, times, image processing, etc) for easier cataloging. The User Interface also includes a set of Smart Tools to easily copy & paste text and graphic zones from Readiris to any application, print an overview of your scanned documents, or send the recognized document as an e-mail for fast and easy sharing. Furthermore, the OCR wizard offers a semi-automatic way of recognizing documents, and guides you through the OCR process, plus users can display the Readiris interface in one of the 6 available languages: English, French, Dutch, German, Italian, and Spanish.
Supports Most Scanners and Digital Cameras
Readiris Pro supports all TWAIN compliant scanners and other image acquire devices, and supports digital cameras from Canon, Casio, Fuji, HP, Kodak, - in fact, all TIFF and JPEG formats generated by digital cameras are recognized.
