The Swann SW242-WDS could very well be the security product that many people have been waiting for. Instead of dealing with the bulkiness and complexities of a conventional DVR, here's a security system that practically anyone will find easy to install and operate. The system consists of a wired camera and a recorder unit that stores images onto the included 128MB SD memory card. Recording automatically starts when motion is detected within the camera's viewing range. Aside from being the only images most people will want to see anyways, motion detection based recording has the added benefit of conserving the recorder's rather limited storage resources.
For expansion purposes, this unit will accept one additional wireless camera, which can then be viewed together with the included wired camera on a single screen in PIP fashion. The recorder unit however, will only record the signal of one camera at a time.
With its weather resistant design and IR illumination, the camera can be installed indoors or outdoors as well as in areas with limited amounts of light.
