Yes, the Manfrotto 425B Mega Boom (12') can be used on the Matthews overhead stand to mount the Sony A6700. The Sony A6700 is a very small and lightweight camera.

Has anyone used this boom with a parabolic reflector with off-axis weight offset, such as a Para 88/133?

Thanks Reuben, so suppose I use my Manfrotto 087 wind up stand weighted with appropriate boom counter weight - I should be able to use this boom for that kind of setup? FWIW, the Manfrotto 025 Super Boom is not near sturdy enough for the job. Many thanks in advance.

What stand would be recommended to hold the 425B mega boom?
Asked by: Sergey
We generally use the Avenger cranks stand Avenger Wind-Up 39 Stand with Braked Wheels It is important to note that the base of the avenger crank a little on the narrow side , so if you are doing big extensions it is very important to counterweight properly. we Also use med roller stands or Combo stands, anything with a junior mount that can handle the weight hope that helps Sven

question

What stud should I use for this boom?
Asked by: Mathieu
The Avenger E200 Stand Adapter B&H # AVE200 would fit on the end of the boom in the junior receiver and will terminate into a baby pin for mounting most lights.

question

Has anyone ever tried this as a mic boom for long take live production?
Asked by: Steven B.
Haven't tried it but it would work. You would probably need a grip head to hold the mike holder. The cranks for tilt and rotation would be useful. The crank to extend the arm is in an awkward place though.
