MPEG-4 Hardware Compression
Video is captured using a hardware MPEG-4 compression method. Because of its minimized reliance on the host PC's performance and capabilities, hardware MPEG-4 compression provides a more efficient and dependable way of handling data distribution when compared to software compression.
Multiplexing
With its built-in multiplexer, users will be able to simultaneously record, view live and playback material both locally and from a remote network location without compromising image quality or DVR performance.
Smart Motion Detection
An elaborate motion detection function can be applied to each video channel. Motion detection parameters can be individually set for each camera input. In practical terms, this will allow a camera pointing at a bank entrance, for example, to be set at a lower intensity level than a camera pointing at the bank's safe. To maximize system resources, cameras in motion detection mode can be set to record at higher frame rates than cameras recording continuously.
Remote Network Access
By connecting the host PC to the network, users will be able to access the DVR to view live and recorded images as well as to control the PTZ functions of a dome camera from a remote Internet location. An elaborate password protection system ensures that DVR access is limited to authorized users.
Email Alerts
To ensure that users are apprised of all conditions, this DVR can be set to send alarm alerts to PCs, pagers, mobile and land line phones or to email accounts over the network.
Watchdog Function
A watchdog function continuously monitors the DVR's health to ensure that data is not lost due to a system or hard drive failure. A power loss memory function will automatically restore original DVR settings following recovery from a power failure.
Time & Date Stamp
A time and date stamp can be applied to exported images to prevent them from being digitally altered, thus preserving their legal integrity.
