I do high school basketball play by play with an Irigpro. Can this ART SPLITCOM Pro be used to add another Mic for a second announcer doing commentary during pauses in my play by play while still running both mics through the iRigPro?? What does this do to the sound quality? We use the MIXLR app to do all our basketball games. Thanks, Jay
The ART SPLITCom Pro Microphone Splitter/Combiner can be used as desired to combine two microphones into one output signal. It will not allow for individual level control of each microphone however. For a solution that does allow level control, a small mixer such as BH #ARUSBMIX4 would be suitable.

Yes, you can use the ART SPLITCom Pro Microphone Splitter/Combiner to split the power on a phantom powered mic.

Does this device decrease the output like the Galaxy Audio JIB/C? It states that there is a 10dB loss in signal in the output.
No. While the Galaxy Audio JIB/C Jack In The Box One-Channel Input Expander does create a 10 dB loss in signal level when summing two microphone signals, the ART SPLITCom Pro Microphone Splitter/Combiner does not attenuate the audio output level when splitting or combining two microphone signals.

question
When you use this as a combiner (for example, use two microphones and mix the audio signals from the microphones in this device) can you still split the output signal into two? I just need to use two mics but amplify the sound in a monitor as well as record it in my audio recording device.
Once the signal is combined, you are unable to split the signal output of the ART SPLITCom Pro Microphone Splitter/Combiner.

question
There is another version of ART Spliter: ART ProSplit with one input and two outputs. Does ART SPLITCom do whatever ART ProSplit do? ART ProSplit costs more than ART SPLITCom, though.
I have both and they seem to work the same, if what you are looking for is the ground lift. If you just want to split a signal, buy $3 XLR Y-splitter (1 female to 2 male ends) on B&H.
