DiCAPac WP-S10 Reviews
Great affordable waterproofing option
Does the job! Picked up one of these to use on a surf clothing product shoot with my FX3. Camera fit comfortably with the 24-70 GM and was fairly easy to control inside the case. Despite being inside another layer of glass I got a really clean image. Recommend for light/occasional water shooting.
Performs as expected
I heavily relied on reviews before making this purchase so I hope this will be helpful for anyone considering. The housing is completely waterproof in shallow water. I filmed with an a7sii at a local lake where it was fully submerged for an hour at 4ft max deep. I was not gentle with it. Don't worry about water getting in if you seal properly. (car fob was in it too) Functionality was as expected. It's essentially a thick ziplock, there are little 'glove' holes to access minor camera functions, but other than turning on the camera, snapping pictures, minor setting adjustments, I was not able to do much. Plus, glare made the LCD screen difficult to see. Its 'one size fits all' design will be a challenge for those using smaller lenses. As is, it was too long for my 25mm and you can visibly see the circular black ring of the housing. I've since made some adjustments to shorten the lens length and I also hold the housing back while filming. The front glass has a rainbow effect, I'm not sure whether this was due to the combination of ND filter + water. My main struggle was with its buoyancy. Even with all of the air squeezed out, it was difficult to keep camera + housing submerged. I'm experimenting with weights to see if it will stay underwater. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase for my first venture into underwater photography. I'd recommend it for anyone wanting to try it out.
