Arecont Vision AV5100-DN 5 Megapixel IP Camera (Day/Night)

Ultra high resolution monitoring over a network is now a reality with the AV5100-DN from Arecont Vision. The camera is equipped with a 1/2" color CMOS sensor brimming with 5 million pixels. Consequently, the camera is able to produce exceptionally high quality video images with the level of sharpness and color accuracy normally associated with digital still cameras.

To put it in numbers, video is captured at a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944 and at speeds of up to 9 FPS (in 5 MP mode), translating into a resolution ten times that of the best analog CCTV camera. The key advantage to having such a high resolution is the ability to greatly magnify a picture without suffering image degradation common to standard resolution cameras. Consequently, a single camera can be used to monitor an area normally requiring up to ten fixed analog cameras, making it a huge time and cost saver.
