Ikelite 5510.35 overview

  • 1Description

Capture extreme close-ups of coral, pygmy seahorses, and parrot fish at depths as great as 200' with this FL Modular Flat Port, which accommodates most popular portrait and macro lenses. It ships without a required extension, and accepts a variety of models that fit most lenses and connect directly to Ikelite camera housings with FL (Four Lock) mounts. Compatible lenses include those from Canon, Nikon, Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, Panasonic, Olympus, and Sony. For details, please see the following port charts: FL

, FL for Panasonic Lumix GH3/GH4 Housings, and FL for Sony Alpha 7-series Housings.

The flat port magnifies images to a greater degree than a dome port does, allowing you to fill your frame with a small sea creature and capture great detail. Its front element is made from optical glass, which offers exceptional clarity. Installation and removal of the port are both quick and easy with the supplied strap wrench.

    Ikelite 5510.35 reviews

FL Modular Flat Port for Portrait and Macro Lenses is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Ikelite Macro Port for UW Photo I use this with the 5510.75 focus extension and 5510.16 port body with an Ikelite housing and a Canon 20D w 100mm macro lens. I bought this modular assembly as a replacement for the standard 5508.45 port, which I had had for 4+ years and decided to retire. It goes together well, and was water tight from the get-go. Not sure I would recommend using the modular aspect, ie you are supposed to be able to swap the parts for different lenses etc, as once you get it leaktight its better to just leave it. Note - this is heavy by the time its all together - I use Stix floats on both the strobe arms and the lens port itself

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Port No i know why they recommend flat ports for macro. I was amazed at how close I could get with even just a 50mm lens. Love the modular design. With the lenses I have, I use the same post body with this and my dome port, saving me some space. It's also much more robust than the old Ikelite flat ports.
