The Panasonic BLC-30A features 802.11b/g wireless technology enabling the camera to connect to the network without using any cables. Once connected, the camera can be viewed and controlled from anywhere in the world simply by logging on to the Internet and entering the camera's unique IP address on a PC, PDA or even a compatible cell phone with no special software required. Up to 12 cameras can be viewed remotely on one screen, with the ability to control the pan and tilt of each camera. Using a built-in heat sensor, the camera can detect a person entering the room, at which point, the camera will start recording to a hard drive and will also send a notification via email.
The camera features a privacy mode which is activated by pressing a button on the camera; a red blinking light comes on indicating that the camera is now off the network. The camera can be mounted on the wall or a tripod.
