Manfrotto 819-1 overview

  • 1Description

The Manfrotto 7" Hydrostatic Arm features a revolutionary locking system that produces a firm lock with very minimal effort. The system incorporates a technically advanced ball locking mechanism using hydrostatic action that is based on principles of modern hydraulics. With just a slight turn of the wrist, the arm securely locks in the desired position to firmly hold any camera, monitor, or accessory.

This arm spans 7" (17.8cm) and can support up to 4.4 lbs (2kg). The 819 is the ideal companion for attaching a video monitor to a camera or using as a flag support. Like the 814, the pivoting pins are 1/4-20" and 3/8" threaded with one side offering a platform to provide a larger footprint for the equipment being supported by the arm.

    Hydrostatic Arm - 7" (17.8cm) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice little arm It is an expensive little arm, but it uses a fluid to lock into place so it should last a very long time without any problems. Ive used it for a month now in a little assembly for some macro shots and ive had no problem with it. Its design makes it very versatile in manipulating the distance and direction of both ends. It takes more effort than i expected to lock into place, but its still easy to tighten the arm into place. Overall its worth buying if you want an arm that last a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Useful Arm I use this arm to mount my Datavideo TLM-700HD 7 LCD Monitor on my Manfrotto 509HD Video Head. I find it to be VERY useful for myself and clients that want to see how a shot is framed etc.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't cut it for us. We had intended to use the Manfrotto hydrostatic arm with our 6.5 Marshall Monitor, which I accept is a bit old and on the heavy side particularly with a full size Sony L Battery at its back, but hey, that's Pro stuff and certainly within the expected weight range. After just a couple of time it started to collapse like a cheap gadget. Total waste of money.
