While this piece was bigger than I expected, it is solid, high-quality, and quick to solve leveling issues. I added this to my Manfrotto BeFree Advanced carbon tripod. While it does add weight, it makes leveling on uneven terrain simple and fast. And, you can easily remove it if you want to pare down your gear. I'm super happy with my purchase.
