    Manfrotto 334B reviews

    334B Automatic Monopod (Black) - Supports 17.6 lbs (8kg) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again and again I use this whenever I need to use my heavy 70mm-200mm lens. I like that it just twists to lock, it can support a good deal of weight and it has a clean finish unlike others that have snap locks for every height change. Keep in mind that I've used this product before and lost the first one and I bought the same product again because of my experience with it. Only one drawback that is not really a problem for me is that if your palms are sweating or moist from oily product then it is almost impossible to twist to lock or unlock. it is the most compact and one of the strongest product I could find in its price range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I don't know what I'd do without this!!! This is by far the easiest and fastest monopod I have ever used. It is also quite the envy of most people that see it. There are technically 3 shafts or 2 adjustment sections to this pod. The first section is manually adjustable by twist locking into position. The second is the automatic section that is adjustable by pulling the trigger/handle. I have been to 2 graduations in 2 days using this pod to support a 300mm 2.8 lens for 3 hours each. Using a quick release head, I was able to rapidly disconnect and fold up the pod to move positions to get the shots I wanted. I recommend getting a head that has a quick disconnect. The pod's trigger is adjustable for friction so through time, you can tighten up the trigger mechanisim or loosin it. A slight downfall to this product is that it really is not very compact but is easily work aroundable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works well, good value This monopod is very easy to use. 1 section pulls out and 1 twists which makes setup fast. You twist the lower section to where you want ( only a few inches for me) and then open and close the top by pulling, and a squeeze to close. Quick and easy. You can leave it like that all day only using the squeeze handle for minor adjustments. Whats not great are the heads made for it. They are rated at around 5 lbs. What a waste. Why can't they make a monopod head that can hold 10 or 15 lbs.? The monopod is rated at just under 18 lbs. I bought this to help me hold up a 400mm vr lens when I did not want to use my tripod. I had to go to a different brand to buy a decent monopod head. The monopod by itself though is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Auto MP This works just as advertised. Easy to drop the lower section with a twist. Then the auto raise/lower feature works beautifully with the included grip. Btw, the auto raise/lower works with the lower section up or down. It is a bit long retracted, but that was expected. It's hard to find a shorter retractable MP except for a very simple one. I have a velbon UP-43 that is simple and short, BUT it doesn't raise and lower with the ease of the 334B. I'd rather a little inconvenience carrying the MP and seamless operation at an event, than the other way around. On the plus side of the length issue, I'm 6'2 and this MP, with or without another head installed, is much taller than I am. With a head installed on it, I can stand one step up on a step stool and still use this when it's on the ground!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Monopod This is my second Bogen monopod ( I broke my first one). It is an intergral part of my video arsenal. It works great in crowds when you have to get over everyones heads and get that great shot. I even set up a zoom lever on the bottom to facilitate movement when I have it over my head. Also works as a steadicam for lighter cameras. The auto function is a no brainer must for on the go. I love this little monopod...can't shoot without it in my bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use Monopod Love the grip release on this monopod for quick and easy camera adjustment. I shot a lot of wildlife and need to have quick and easy camera placement. This is my second time buying this specific monopod, one for each camera :) Simple to use, light weight, sturdy and reasonably priced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monopod The price went up dramatically, but I love the ease of height adjustment. I always buy the warranty--- because if water or sand get in the mechanism-- it is toast. I shoot weddings and sports. I have a Just Rite Bracket, Nikon D300 and the 17-55 mm f/2.8 with a Nikon SB-900. Sometimes I will use the 10.55 mm fisheye, or the 70-200 f/2.8 VR to get some really tight shots. This monopod is strong enough to support my 300 mm f/2.8 lens. I love it. Buy one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Far, so good. I use this monopod with the Canon 7d, mainly for motion picture. I'm a one man band and have the need for mobility and simplicity. This monopod is great for these situations; I can mic someone up, set up a bounce board without having to even set the camera down. It's more dangerous this way, so I end up setting camera down for sfaety, but I don't have to! Great flexibility and perfect for those situations where you have to shoot a lot of people and do so for 10-20 minutes each. It's a manfrotto, and I've not broken one yet. sometime I wish for 6 more inches, but this is one of the tallest available. good product.
